I have been offered a once in a lifetime chance to go out to Madagascar with a team of students from my school.
During August 2015 I will be doing a month of trekking and community project work.

I suffer from a severe form of myalgic encephalomyelitis (CFS) which, along with it’s typical symptoms of depression, insomnia, chronic migraine, join/muscle pain; causes crippling, ‘unrefreshable’ tiredness. This means I’ve been wheelchair bound, and out of school for nearly 3 years, at points finding it even difficult to hold my toothbrush up for long enough to brush my teeth.
So this challenge seems perfectly reasonable, right?

Aside from my own personal challenge (and the clue is in the name), each student must raise the £4100 to get out to Madagascar. This is something I’m aware I’m going to find incredibly difficult. Due to my combination of illnesses and having just rejoined school for 6th form, my time is very stretched; and what little I do have to fundraise is a battle against social anxiety.

It seems somewhat rediculous to sign up for something of this scale. But who doesn't love a challenge? And as well as changing the lives of those in Madagasar it will undoubtedly change my own.
So please help me prove that I am able to do this, and that no matter how much I've struggled, I am able to overcome it.
Sob story aside, this is a fantastic opportunity to help others, in such a fascinating hands-on way. So the smallest donation will really make such a huge difference.

Thank you.
