The 2012 Sekelelai Buumi (celebrating health) tournament is an event that calls Zambians together through their passion for soccer, with the purpose of spreading knowledge for the fight against HIV/AIDS, as being organized by a trio of Peace Corps volunteers. There will be Voluntary Counseling and Testing as well as educational talks and performances by local youth and community leaders. This year's tournament is scheduled to take place August 17-18 and if successful, we hope to make it an annual event. Due to circumstances beyond our control and time constraints, our primary resource for funding this event has fallen through. In light of the difficult economic times, we feel the benefits of holding this event are well worth proceeding with whatever contributions and resources we can manage. In Zambia, even two US dollars is enough to transport and feed a player during the tournament. Every contribution has an impact and we appreciate your donations.
