About 9 months ago, I suddenly lost my business and my income and have been struggling to keep things together since then. I have started a psychotherapy private practice and am now also working part time at a clinic and hope to be back on my feet soon. As I am also in a PhD program, I will be able to get financial aid money again in February, which should be enough to get to the point that my income stabilizes, but it will not be in time to pay my rent or bills for January. Right now, I do not know how I will do that.

I have sold my car and appliances and everything I had to sell and with that and financial aid and some help from family I have made it this far and only have to make it one more month, but I am just out of resources. Starting the practice, getting everything through licensing, took a long time and things were complicated at the end of September when my brother died, my son had surgery, and I became a single Mom with 3 kids all in one week.

I have a hard time asking for help but I am scared and worn out and I just do not know what else to do. I probably need about $3,000 to pay the bills I haven’t paid for December and to get through January. I have already told my kids we just aren’t having Christmas, and they can live with that. I just do not want to have to tell them we’re going to be homeless too.

Anything helps.  Please do not worry if you can’t. And if prayers are what you can spare, those are most welcome too.
