Help us restore a historic Carriage House to it's former glory!

The 1842 Greek Revival property located at 48 Elm Street in Potsdam NY was built by Henry Liberty Knowles, a prolific attorney and Judge of St. Lawrence County. In its 170+ year history it has been home to notable members of the Potsdam community such as the Knowles family and Helen Hosmer of the Crane School of Music. Most recently it is been transformed into a Bed and Breakfast.

Unfortunately time has taken it's toll on the original Carriage House located on the property. Once used to house the family horse and buggy, it has succumbed to years of harsh Upstate NY winters and is badly in need of repair. Of course such an undertaking will need time and money. The options are to either tear the historic structure down or restore/rebuild it in the semblance of its former glory. The latter is preferred but can only be achieved with your help.
