Julian's mom, Jacki Andrew, keeps his page up to date.
Sadly, Julian's cancer has returned and he is now in need of a bone marrow transplant. He will be returning to the hospital on Monday, August 11, 2014 for an extended hospitalization and treatment and to resume his fight. His family will be tested in the hopes of finding a matching donor. Julian is almost three years old now, and in addition to his little sister, another baby is on the way in a few months. The Andrews truly appreciate prayers, encouragement, and support during this difficult time.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Julian Andrew of Chippewea Falls, Wisconsin celebrated his second birthday with family and friends on August 24, 2013. Only eleven days later, after blood work and visits to the doctor for what appeared to be minor symptoms, Julian's family received a devastating diagnosis: Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). In an instant, their happy, normal family was turned upside down. Every parents' worst nightmare materialized and was happening to them.
Julian, his mother, Jacki, his father, Jeff, and his baby sister, age six months, are struggling to adjust to life with this disease. Julians' first hospital stay was from September 4, the day of his diagnosis, to October 2. Julian had at least one parent by his side every moment. He will be in and out of the hospital for extended stays for the next eight months for treatment and procedures that include chemotherapy, Hickman line placement, lumbar puncture, bone marrow biopsy, and may other painful, invasive, and scary procedures.
What the family needs most is love and support. They are receiving much love from family and friends and their support will be a driving force in what helps the Andrew family stay positive and healthy.
The Andrew family also needs financial support. Both Jacki and Jeff work full-time jobs and since Julian is in the hospital the majority of the time, this means an extreme amount of work is missed by each of them. Please keep this family in your thoughts and prayers, and please do what you can to help ease their burden. No family should have to worry about finances at a time like this. Every little bit helps.
