Don and Nancy Smith are both battling two devastating types of cancer. Nancy was in for a routine breast exam when they found a suspicious lump. As she got it checked out they discovered it was an aggressive stage 2 triple negative breast cancer. She had a lumpectomy of the right breast and goes to endure chemotherapy every 2 weeks. Once the Chemo is finished she will have to begin radiation. Just as Nancy was attending her first Chemotherapy treatment her husband and my father Don, was rushed to the ER with trouble breathing. After stabilizing him and routine blood work he was diagnosed with pneumonia and CLL (Chronic Lymphatic Leukemia). He was then transferred to West Chester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY. He too is treated with Chemo-therapy and will continue to endure intense treatment. 1 treatment of 3 days twice a month. At this time they are both doing the best they can with the situation given. Neither Don or Nancy will be able to work during their treatments. Don is without insurance as of right now and Nancy's insurance only covers 80% of her expenses. We are trying to raise money to help with groceries, rent, bills, gas for Dr. Appointments and of course hospital/treatment expenses. Help make a difference for our family by helping us help them.
