The ninth annual Winnona Park Read-a-Thon starts October 4, 2019!
Our kids are wild about reading, and they love this annual event that encourages reading outside of school! The Read-a-Thon is also one of our most important school fundraisers, with proceeds supporting so many PTA initiatives at Winnona Park, including classroom supplies, teacher stipends and grants, and field trips for all students.
Our kindergarten, first, and second grade students can log reading hours in many ways: by reading alone, reading with a partner (a friend, sibling, parent, or caregiver), or having a book read to them. They are asked to gather sponsors who will contribute based on minutes read or by lump sum. Readers will be recognized by class and individually for minutes read.
This year, our goal is to read 40,000 minutes!
The Read-a-Thon is a weeklong event ending on October 11, 2019, but sponsorships and contributions will be collected until November 1. Thank you for supporting our kids and our school!
