At the age of 28 in March 2014 Corrina Sanderson was diagnosed with breast cancer, she then faced surgery to remove 9 lymph nodes to then discover the cancer had spread very close to her lungs and also under her arms. This meant the cancer was aggressive and she didn't have much time before she had to start Chemotherapy on the 10th of April 2014. In between this time she underwent surgery to remove a cyst from one ovary and also healthy tissue form the other ovary in the hope that it can be used to re build the ovaries in the future to be strong and healthy so she has a chance to have children. Not only is she facing 18 weeks of Chemo and intense radiation Corrina also endures numerous needles & injections throughout the process & faces a double mastectomy to remove both her breasts in the future so the cancer has no chance of returning. Meanwhile while fighting her own battle this strong and inspiring young woman is dealing with the loss of her farther Robert Sanderson who sadly passed away on the 19th of April 2014 as he lost his battle with stomach cancer. Corrina spent days & nights at the hospital she shared with her farther by his bedside through his treatment, after she finished Chemo she would go straight up to his room to spend time with him while her mother cared for them both while trying to hold the rest of the family up. No one should have to endure what this family are going through and no 28 year old woman should face the things Corrina is facing before she's even had a chance to start a family. Please help and make a donation, her family have 2 lots of medical bills for her and her farther , she will need some funky wigs and we would really like to send her to the Gawler Cancer Retreat in Melbourne as part of her recovery which is in excess of $5000 plus. A little bit goes a long way, we can all make a difference.
