I created this cause in honor of my mother. I lost her to Ovarian Cancer on September 1, 2012. She was a hair stylist who lost her hair. It devastated her and made her feel less feminine and very insecure. I know this is the superficial side of cancer but I also know that we, as individuals, are very affected by how others see us. I am also a hair stylist and esthetician and I need to reach out to women and men in my area and show them that there is beauty beyond their diagnosis. I work at a salon called Bliss. The owner of the salon lost her father to head and neck cancer in January of 2012. We believe our parents brought us together to help those on this earth who are fighting and need our help. In the salon we have created a private wig and make-up room so that wigs can be tried on and customized in private and so that I can show someone how to create eyebrows for themselves now that theirs have fallen out. Any contribution made will give someone a new wig, a makeover, a facial, or color and cut for their new post- chemo hair. Thank you for your love and support. blissanecofriendlysalon.com for address and additional information.
