The World Socialist Web Site is marking its 15th anniversary of daily publication. As part of this campaign, we are calling on all our readers to financially support the WSWS to lay the foundation for an immense expansion of its content and influence.

As 2014 comes a close, we appeal to all our readers to make a donation to help support the work of the World Socialist Web Site.

Amidst the explosive growth of social inequality, far-reaching attacks on democratic rights and the escalating and permanent state of war, there has never been a more urgent need to expand the influence of the world socialist movement.

All funding for the WSWS comes from our readers and supporters—not corporations, governments or pro-capitalist foundations.Your donation helps us support our editorial staff, develop our technological capacities and extend our outreach.

As a reader of the WSWS, you know how unique the site is. It is the essential and indispensable counterweight to the lies of the corporate-controlled media around the world. Countless well-paid commentators and newspaper columnists cover-up government secrets and do whatever they can to pollute public consciousness. Workers have in their arsenal only the weapon of the WSWS. Day in and day out, our readers can be confident that the WSWS will provide a political orientation to workers and young people all over the world.

This year has marked significant achievements. Against the backdrop of endless warmongering by the imperialist powers, the ICFI organized the May 4 International May Day Online Rally, the first of its kind in history, bringing together an audience from over 90 countries and six continents. In the US, the WSWS helped organize the Workers Inquiry into the Bankruptcy of Detroit, which followed the successful demonstration in defense of the Detroit Institute of Arts last year. In August, reporters from the WSWS were on site in Ferguson, Missouri in the aftermath of the police killing of Michael Brown and the military-police crackdown on the city.

This is only a small sample of the work carried out this year. As of the end of November, the WSWS has published nearly 5,000 articles on all major political, historical and cultural issues. Toward the end of the year, we reached a significant milestone with the publication of the 50,000th article since postings began in 1998. All of these articles are available, free of charge, in the WSWS archives.

Looking forward, we aim to significantly develop our technological initiatives, expanding the use of video, podcasts and social media, while extending our work in new countries and languages. We will fight to bring the program of world socialist revolution to an ever broader audience. Donate to the WSWS to help sustain its in-depth coverage: the daily perspective columns, investigative reports, historical retrospectives, economic analysis, cultural and aesthetic insights, and much more.

The aim of the WSWS is an ambitious one: The organization and education of the international working class and the liberation of mankind from the shackles of the capitalist system. Yet this is the only way out of the disaster that the ruling classes of the world have created, and the even greater disasters to come.

The work of the WSWS this year has been possible only thanks to the financial support of our readers. We are asking you today to give the largest possible contribution to our end-of-the-year fund drive. Sign up for a recurring donation to help us meet our monthly budget.

We need your support! Make your contribution to the WSWS today!
