We recently rescued a young dog from death row at a NC shelter.  She was brought to NJ and adopted very quickly,  just this past Friday. Since she arrived in NJ,  she has been vomiting on and off. The vet thought it was new food and possibly a sensitive stomach. However,  last night she vomited and had a seizure.  Her new Mom rushed her to the vet and she is now at an emergency veterinary specialist where they will do a procedure today to, hopefully,  remove whatever is stuck in her esophagus, if that's what is causing this.  If the procedure is unsuccessful, surgery will be required.  The estimated cost for the procedure is $2000; surgery is approximately $5000. Her new family has taken wonderful care of her in the short time they've had her, but these are expenses no one anticipates. As a small rescue group that struggles financially all of the time, we aren't in a position to help them and our hearts are breaking. This poor dog has been through so much already in her one year of life. Besides finances, prayers are sincerely requested also.

Sincerely,

Rosemary Petriello
