In this picture Pumpkin is consoling Rico after returning home from the emergency vet. We had just returned home yesterday (August 2, 2014) and discovered Rico on the floor in the sunroom she was unable to move and crying out. The other cats were around her and we rushed her to the emergency vet. We called our homeopathic vet in MA and left her a message. The ER doc was kind and he was very helpful he thinks she had a stroke or neurological episode of some kind. Dr Lindsay returned our call even though she was on vacation and we all discussed the situation. We have about a 24-48hr window to try to see if the remedy can help if it doesn't we will have to make that awful decision. The ER vet felt she was in good hands with us and we had fluids administered before we left. She has had her remedy and she is resting comfortably right now and being monitored closely.
We were well over budget for July in vet bills by $650 and $680 in food/litter and supplies and that was before yesterdays ER visit with Rico.
Tweetie was diagnosed this month with cancer and we are struggling with that as well. He is on herbs, meds, and a remedy and had an ultrasound and vet checks. We have a normal monthly med routine of the following:
Methimazole for hyperthyroidism is a med both Basil & Pumpkin are
on along with T4 blood panels every so many months.
Yuman Bai Yao
capsules for Tweetie's hemangiosarcoma
Predisone and Liquid
remedy for Tweetie (hemangiosarcoma)
Cyproheptadine - appetite
stimulate for Basil
Tresaderm for Freddie's ears (she had double
hematomas)
Dorzolamide/Timolol SoLn (this is ordered at a regular
pharmacy) this is for Freddie's glaucoma
Fluoxetime aka Prozac
for Junkyard Johnny and Speedy for aggressive
behavior
Erythromycin ophthalmic for Wu & Arielle as needed
for on & off eye issues
Calming collars (they last 30days):
The Count, Clyde, Arielle, Junkyard Johnny, CC & Snowy
The
following cats are on homeopathic remedies: CC, Tweetie, Rico,
PumpkinYum-Yum
Dogs use Heartguard every month and Seresto
collars every 6-8 months for fleas/ticks.
Finn also takes one
remedy when going in the car.
Petey has a chronic back issue most
likely from prior abuse and when it acts up it often results in the 3
medications for a short period of time.
PLEASE anything you can donate is VERY much appreciated and please share the page.
