I am writing on behalf of our furry family member, Scooby. She is our 13 year old Calico cat who has been with us since the day she adopted me back in 2001. In late October we noticed small lumps growing on her chest. X-Rays show that they have not spread far as of yet but further testing is needed to know more. She now needs surgery to have these lumps removed and studied to make sure that they are not cancerous. We are asking for donations from friends, family, and fellow animal lovers to help us raise the funds in order to give Scooby the medical care she needs.

A Little About Scooby:

When we first met, Scooby was under developed, struggling with a severe respiratory infection and only a few months old. After weeks of medical care and R&R, she was on her feet and taking on her new role as the head of household.

Throughout our journeys she has taken on the role of morale leader, mother hen, and occasional the voice of reason.  Scooby is the kind of feline who will snuggle you when you’re down and let you know with a look and a nuzzle that, “That boy wasn’t good enough for you anyways. Now, pass the ice-cream.”

It hasn’t just been our home she has cared for and nurtured. We have taken in 13 foster dogs since 2011. These dogs needed medical care, socializing, and training before heading to their new homes. Some of these dogs had never met a cat before, and didn’t know how to properly greet one. Scooby was happy to educate these young pups about proper feline etiquette and of course, boundaries. I have no doubt that many homes with cats are thanking Scooby for properly training their new pet dogs.
