This week while perusing Craigslist, I came across a post that has since been deleted, so I cannot just cut and paste it, but here is the gist of it.  A single mom had posted three days earlier that she was moving and had some items that she was giving away, and that the free items were all by the curb.  She very clearly stated that anything up by the house and not at the curb was not to be taken.  I actually went back to her original post and that is exactly what it said.  Well, at some point some heartless individual came to the house and took her youngest daughter's Barbie bike, her son's scooter, and his portable basketball hoop.  So the children's mother posted on Thursday that whoever took that stuff took what they were not supposed to, and reduced her kids to tears.  This really struck me.  Sure there are a lot worse things happening in the world, but then again, this is something I can fix.  I e-mailed her and offered to help replace the items, knowing full well that I couldnt replace them all, but wanting to help.  She thanked me, but refused the help.  She had just posted that response hoping that the person that took her kid's things would return them.  Nobody has.  I told her again that I still wanted to help so that her kids would have a chance to see the good in people, and not just the bad.  She told me that if I was insistent on helping, that the Barbie bike was the most important thing, so that her daughter wouldnt be the only one without a bike.  I told her that I would replace the bike.

This brings me to why I am doing this through FundRazr.  I want to replace everything and more.  I will be honest with you.  I never met this woman, I dont know her name, and I dont know her story.  I dont think that matters.  I know that judgement is left up to God.  What I do know is that God would not let me read that post and move on.  I HAVE to do something.

I am going to tell her that I can't get her the bike until next week.  I am asking for help from anyone that is moved to do so.  I will post this for one week.  If you want to make a donation, please do so.  Any amount at all will help and be appreciated.  I have committed to replacing the bike.  Whatever is raised through this effort will go straight to the family to replace the rest of the items and hopefully more.  Lets show her how God and christians replace a loss!  Thank you!
