Joe Tamborra started to have a ringing in his ear around April of 2012, which led him to go to the ENT for an evaluation. At that time they did a hearing test and found that he had lost about 25% of his hearing in his right ear but no further tests were ordered at that time.
As time went on other symptoms started to come up such as dizzy spells, feeling unbalanced on his feet, a few headaches and a buzzing sound in his ear that would get worse when he turned his head. At that point he decided to get a second opinion. The second ENT was concerned as to why the hearing loss occurred only in one ear and he ordered an MRI. The MRI revealed that he did have a tumor on his auditory nerve. He has an appointment with a specialist on the 25th of January. The two options are to have the tumor surgically removed or to do radiation. We will keep you updated as we get more information.
