Sia Katsurugi hasn't added a story.
Hello, my name is Sia. I'm Kiba's fur mum!!
I am disabled. Kiba is my emotional support animal. I go through chronic pain, epilepsy & seizures. I normally don't like asking for help. But, being disabled all my income goes to bills. I need help with Kiba. I have been going through a lot of health battles, to the point where depression has sunk in. Where I felt defeated. I asked my doctor and he said I should go to get an ESA (Emotional Support Animal)... I lost my service dog 4 years ago and that left me broken. I know they won't stay forever so I'm grateful for the years she gave me. I finally did and went to the animal shelter and there he was. Kiba..
Kiba's Story
Kiba is a German Shepherd/ Husky mix. He is 1 year old and a half. He was at the shelter when I met him. At first, I thought maybe he wouldn't like me. But now, how do you say it, we zinged quickly. Got to walk him and there I knew Kiba was coming home with me. Kiba was adopted on February 23, 2024. The shelter provided his shots & rabies. The only thing they didn't provide was a test to check for heartworms. They suggested seeing a vet and establishing care. One day before picking up Kiba, went out and bought everything needed to provide a home for him. Also visited the local PetSmart and they were offering training classes which he has done phenomenal. It's weird I get sick and Kiba takes care of me by supporting me by being at my side. I had made an appointment to have him seen on March 19th, 2024 to meet his vet. Yesterday March 12, 2024 around 8 pm Kiba threw up then again this morning on March 13th, 2024 after his walk to the park. I got worried called the vet, went in at 3:30 pm, and came to find out he is heartworm positive. I cried because I want to do the treatment and I will do everything in my power to do so. But, then I looked at bills. I pay rent & electricity and gas and after that, I'm broke. They need to do treatment and pay for his overnight stays so they can watch him and make sure he doesn't have any issues or allergic reactions.
Please help us & what your contributions will
do.
I will update everything as we go. Anything helps
& I know I have had him only for a couple of weeks. Kiba is
loving and caring. He is a good boy and deserves the absolute best.
I was able to cover the basics in this visit today - March 14th,
2024. The doctor gave me about a week after his nausea calms down.
He is currently on medication. He will need to go back for labs
& then start part 1 out of 2.
Even if you can't contribute. Please pass this along & share
it. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I'm grateful to everyone
I cherish and those helping me push forward. Remember you're
absolutely wonderful. May you and your family have blessings.
