WITH YOUR HELP KEITH ("K.A.") CAN BE NEXT TO WALK FREE! PLEASE, HELP US BRING AN INNOCENT MAN HOME!
Keith’s freedom fighters – Chenikqua aka "Tiny" (sister), Aranesha (niece) and Nienke (Dutch friend) – would love you to contribute to the next success story! Are you in?
FRIENDS & FAMILY: WE CAN NOT DO THIS WITHOUT YOU; KEITH NEEDS YOUR HELP TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN!
In 2014 a total of 39 Texas convicts were exonerated, after it was determined that they were innocent of the crimes that sent them to prison. Keith is one of them.
The case
In June 1997, at the age of only 19, Keith Agers ("K.A.") got locked up for a crime he did not commit. In November 1998 he got sentenced to 40 years in prison. Keith has always maintained his innocence and despite all the roadblocks, struggles and tears in the past 18 years, his eyes are still focused on his main goal: prove his innocence and get his freedom back.
Keith’s positive attitude is exceptional; instead of getting discouraged and eventually accept this failure of justice, he decided to fight back. While incarcerated, he has passed the Certified Paralegal Exam. This allowed him not only to fight his wrongful conviction, but also to assist other inmates in legal matters related to their sentence as a jailhouse lawyer. He is still going to school in prison, always trying to improve himself and make the best of a bad situation. With his positive attitude, he is a huge inspiration to other inmates.
Why do we need your help?
The Conviction Integrity Unit in Dallas reviews possible wrongful convictions. Keith’s case is one of the cases that got selected back in 2011 to be reviewed. Despite this selection over 4 years ago (!), Keith’s situation has not changed. Without proper legal defense Keith’s walk to freedom and justice could take years. In order to help Keith find his key to freedom, we need to raise funds for his defense.
WILL YOU HELP US PROVE HIS INNOCENCE AND GIVE KEITH HIS LIFE BACK? ONCE AGAIN, WE CAN NOT DO THIS WITHOUT YOUR HELP!
