Id like for you to meet Floyd. He IS my world..

My Daddy, Floyd, Passed away from cancer 8 years ago. 2 days after his passing i decided to adopt/rescue a kitten.. it actually became 2. I couldnt decide who to take so i took them both! I initally named them Bill and Ted ( For bill and teds excellent adventures). As the day progressed i started to recall a conversation I had with my Dad when I was younger... My Daddy was Jewish. He was actually my Step Dad but he was my Daddy and the man that raised me.. anyway.. Jewish families never named their offspring after a living relative.. I never understood why i just knew it was a thing they did. They only named them after deceased family. I was told also that the 1st born son was named after a deceased parent.. again, i dont know why, heck, im not sure if this is even true.. it came from my Dad and that was good enough for me.

So that was when I decided to name "Bill" after my Dad.. Floyd. Theres something about my kittie that just reminds me of my Dad.. call me crazy but its true. I think only us animal lovers could agree with this. Floyd also wears a pink peace sign tag on his collar.. My Dads favorite band was.. yes you guessed it, Pink Floyd. I recall when he was a kitten taking him to the vet and the young girl questioned why a pink tag on a male kittie...I kept hoping shed make the connection, but, she didnt.. she didnt know who pink floyd was.. OY.. Made me feel old!

So thats a bit of history on my baby.. fast forward to this past weekend.

About 6-ish weeks ago I felt a pea sized knot on his back/side. It was hard and felt scabby so I was confident it was a war wound from scrapping with 1 of his brothers. He has 2.. Ted, which i mentioned and JJ.. another resuce i took in as an adult kittie. JJ doesnt have his front claws ( not my doing) and as a result he is a biter.. floyd has lil notches on his ears as a result of this.. nothing major. Just boys being boys. Anyway.. so as i said my assumption was this was just a boo boo. Well.. as the weeks passed nothing about it changed.. size, shape, nothing. This past saturday i was like ok.. im going to take him in.

The Vet says oh its a cyst.. i'll take him in back and aspirate it.. ok sure, i say. She comes back out and informs me its a "Mast Cell Tumor" AKA: CANCER ... it felt like i was punched in the face.

She was very matter of fact about it and told me it needed to be removed sooner rather than later..im like ok can you do it now? Without even thinking.. oh hey, this might be expensive? She said no but shed look at the schedule and work out an "estimate"  OY. Words a person doesnt want to hear. She came in with the estimate and surgery day, which is this thursday the 28th. Obviously i didnt even hesitate. Id come up with the funds.. thats what credit cards are for, right? *insert sarcasm* As she was going over the charges she tells me I can *save* $157 by NOT sending in the tumor to have it graded 1 2 or 3. Its a report that will tell me what im in for and how they expect future tumors, if any, how they will react. I wont lie, i felt like punching her.. why wouldnt i want that done? Do people actually skip this step? Im already into this for over a grand + .. $157 dollars isnt going to make a difference..

So this is my sob story. I dont care about anything else except my kittie. My home isnt and wouldnt be a home without him..

Im asking for all the positive love and healing vibes and prayers from the Kitten Families out there reading this. If anyone is able to assist in other means, i would be so very grateful.

Sorry for the length of this note... i let my fingers and my heart do the talking.

Thank You..

Lisa & Floyd
