Yesterday was father's day, June 15th, 2014. Local artist, Jacob Grant and his wife Mercy decided to take their three children down the street for some ice cream. When they returned home ten minutes later, the upstairs storey of their house was engulfed in heavy black smoke. A fire had broken out and quickly spread throughout the second floor. Luckily, no one was home at the time and the fire depatment was able to rescue the two family dogs, Daisy and She-Ra.

Losing your home in a fire involves not only the loss of your residence, but also many other things of value such as photo albums, important documents and treasured objects. Most importantly, though, the home is your place of security, comfort and safety. After a fire, this sense of security can also be lost and can significantly disrupt the normality of daily life.

Help the Grant family recover more quickly by donating towards their $1000 homeowner's deductible. Any amount is appreciated.
