On Saturday, May 31, at 4am, I was awaken by my roommate that my dog, Jimmer, was in pain dragging his hind legs across the hallway. I could not figure out what was wrong with him so I took him to the emergency Vet that morning and they gave him medication for his pain and informed me that he might have ruptured a disk in his spine and would require surgery. I decided to take him home and put him on medication to see if he would get any better. Sunday morning I took him to his normal vet and got a second opinion. They told me the same exact things and recommended doing X-rays on him. They also extracted urine from his bladder because he is not able to urinate by himself. I took him home and kept him on medication and he seemed to be getting better but was still not urinating on his own. On Wednesday, June 4th, around 10am he seemed in a lot of pain. I rushed him to his vet and they extracted a huge amount of urine from his bladder and said I was lucky I brought him in because his bladder could have burst. From then I decided that I want ed to get him surgery to save his life, no matter what I have to do. I took him to the surgeon later that day and then took him for an MRI to confirm he had a ruptured disk in his spine. The X-Rays showed a ruptured disk and as I currently write this he is at the surgeon overnight for surgery in the late morning. He will stay another night at least after his surgery. Most of my family, friends, and people I know like Jimmer more than me, and that is fine, he is the best dog in the world and my best friend. He is worth every penny of this surgery and I am glad I am going through with this. However, this procedure is super expensive and I am asking for any donations for Jimmer. I will keep everybody updated on his progress like I have been. Thank you and keep Jimmer in your prayers...
