Matt was hit on his motorcycle his first time out riding. We took him to Lapeer ER right after it happened. They took 10 X-Rays and said that he would be fine, it was just a bad sprain. After a few days we went to Genesys ER because the swelling, brushing, and pain got worse. They had an orthopedic surgeon look at the X-Rays and they said the he is going to need reconstructive surgery if he wants to walk without pain and without limping, work on his feet, and possibly play basketball again. They told me that He has an unstable fracture, which means he has dislocated bones on each side of his ankle and foot and major tendons and ligaments are detached. He is going to have metal pins and plates placed into his ankle and foot and won't be able to use it for 15 weeks. After the 15 weeks the doctor is going to remove the plates and pins, once they do this he will still not be able to wals for 2-3 weeks.

His medical bills are going to be very expensive and without him being able to work it is going to be very hard for us to pay them. I am his girlfriend of three years so I am doing my best to take care of him and work to pay the bills on my own. We both really do appreciate all the help we can get through this hard time.

Thank you so much!

Matt and Nicole
