The tree was planted that same year the house was built, 1910. She has grown into the tallest tree on the block and shaded the house and yard all this time. As the caretaker and owner of the house and yard I must do what is safe and right.
I moved into my home in Nov 1972. From that time to now, my beloved Maple tree has grown to over 80 feet and shaded my yard like a friend giving you a hug. Severe wind and winter snow storms have damaged her and she needs to be taken down. In the last 15 years, branches as large as 20 inches across have fallen on my car, my garage, my neighbors car and fence, and pulled the electrical service off my house and my neighbors. 3 years ago after another violent crash of tree limbs, the tree was diagnosed as infested with carpenter ants and mostly hollow. It is too dangerous to leave it as it is now. I am on a fixed disability income. I have tried to get funding to take care of the tree before it damages anything else or hurts someone. The 4 estimates I have average $5000 to $6500. The last estimate includes all limb removal. It is time to gently and safely remove my back yard friend. Would you please help me and share it with your friends? This is my last hope.
