Adopt-a-bull Chariotneeds some wheels! This little puppy is one tough cookie. He's been spending time with the amazing rehab team at Central Texas Veterinary Specialty Hospital---he will be receiving ongoing rehab and is ready to get his very own cart! And we need your support to raise the funds for his continued therapy and cart (he will need one now and a big boy cart down the road).
Can you help Chariot get his very own first set of wheels?
Here's his story:
We were contacted by an Animal Control Officer from a rural Texas
shelter regarding an 7 week old chocolate lab puppy mix that had been
surrendered to the shelter and was due to be euthanized as his right
hind leg had some sort of traumatic injury. We pulled Chariot into our
program on December 12th and was unsure of his health and expected
outcome. However, Chariot has had a full exam, x-rays and has been
seen by a Specialty Veterinarian and after further review we were told
there is hope for one of his back legs to be used in the future and he
does have some feeling in the other back leg but will most likely
never use it. There were no issues with his spine (thank goodness!),
however due to his age it is possible that he may face bladder or/and
bowel issues as his body continues to grow and develop.
Chariot is a spirited little guy as he is already getting around
by scooting on his back legs, however we are fully aware that it is a
critical time to get him placed with a fur-ever family to start
working on assuring he is as fully functional as possible while he is
still growing and developing.
Although the prognosis for Chariot is uncertain as he grows, he
is showing himself to be a spitfire and we would like to do our very
best and seek out all our options in order to get him the care, love
and attention he needs in order to have a happy future. He is going to
need a family that is patient and willing to commit to his long-term
care! We plan to move forward with seeking out next step and hope to
have him placed in a fur-ever home by the time he starts professional
rehabilitation and gets fitted for a cart or braces!
