On the 27th June 2015, I am volunteering for two weeks with VESA (Volunteer Eco Students Abroad), travelling to Ecuador and volunteering within the local community. During my time in Ecuador i will be helping to provide remote villages with fresh water, restore the local primary schools, teaching English to primary school children and building bathrooms for those without access to such basic necessities. I will commute daily by canoe to an inaccessible indigenous community and will be working with these villages improving invaluable infrastructure and helping to teach English to the village children.

So far VESA have managed to...

  • Fully refurbish 6 primary schools with new desks,
  • Build over 1 hundred full toilet blocks with self composting septic tanks, helping to preserve the health of both the local villagers and the river system
  • Provide 27,000 hours worth of English Education

The cost of this trip is £1100 which as well as covering the cost of food, local transport and accommodation costs, also includes:

  1. Building materials needed for volunteer project.
  2. Hiring of local skilled trades people to assist in the volunteer projects.
  3. A monetary donation to the local host organisation.

Also there is an additional cost of £900 for flights and medications...

Therefore the total I need to fundraise to make this trip happen in £2000!

As some may know, I volunteered in Uganda this June which was an amazing and truly inspirational experience which has motivated me to seek further volunteering opportunities. However, unlike last time, I am unable to self-fund this trip.

So what am I doing/have I done so far to help raise funds for this trip...

  • I have arranged a collection stall at the MORRISONS where I work
  • I have written a letter to local businesses and Rotary clubs requesting support
  • I have arranged a Curry night with some of the proceeds going to this cause

So why have I created this page?

Because I am asking for the support of my friends, family and acquaintances by sponsoring me to do a bridge jump whilst I’m there...

Please click on the arrow on the photo and watch the video.. It's scary stuff!

Please support me in any way you can, every pound helps, in helping make this trip happen...

Many Thanks
