UP started giving birth to stillborn kittens, and after 2 days, I woke up to find her lethargic and barely breathing.. I called MANY vets asking if they would accept payments and only one would. We took her in and when the vet saw her they instantly rushed her into surgery.
They discovered 3 putrefied fetus's & a massive uterine infection. The removed the uterus and fetus's and placed her on heavy antibiotics and told me she was in critical condition and would be for next several days. They honestly didn't know if she would live the next 24hrs or not.
This was on Memorial Day weekend ( Friday ).
I checked back on Saturday and she was alive , doing well, but still in critical condition.
On Tuesday I was told I could bring her home and again, 3x I told the office manager ( kelly ) that I needed to make payments.
she said "I'll talk to you about it later".
she never did call and finally i sent my son on the bus to go get her.
When he got there he was told that the bill was $580 and we had to come up with a MINIMUM $250 down payment to bring her home.
I had told them $25/mo was what i could afford and they refused to allow her to come home.
As of yesterday she is doing well but still on antibiotics. The office manager was out for the weekend but when I tried to pin down the person on the phone as to how much the bill was going up, she kept saying "i need to go look @ your chart".
So apparently the daily cost is based on who you are *sigh*
I feel very victimized by this vet and only want my friend and companion home.
as of yesterday the bill was around $670 and rising quickly.
if you can find it in your heart to help bring her home we would be most grateful
