The HD Toros basketball organization was formed in 2007 to allow young men the equal opportunity to belong to a traveling basketball team regardless of their financial situation. Most traveling teams in San Antonio charge high monthly dues on top of tournament, coaching, and training fees- just to belong to their team. This causes many teen players to miss out on the opportunity to play competitive basketball against quality opponents.
The majority of our players attend inner city schools which include Edison HS, Harlandale HS, and Lanier HS. Most of them would otherwise not have the opportunity to participate on a travel team due to financial hardships.

These tournaments are really important because they take place during the NCAA open period. College coaches are allowed to scout players during the open period and identify the young men they would like to recruit and possibly offer an athletic scholarship to. By playing in these tournaments, our players would receive the exposure needed to continue their educational goals after high school.
The average team fee for each of these tournaments is $600. The average player fee per tournament is $60. Each night of lodging for each player is $20.

Any amount you would like to donate would be greatly appreciated. 100% of
your donation will be directly applied to help our players with the greatest financial need.
