Every year we resettle approximately 40 refugees in the Greater New Orleans area. They come from harsh conflict zones, so their first steps in New Orleans are brimming with hope for a new beginning. They bring amazing stories of resilience to open up the perspectives & hearts of our community. Our job is to help them to get to "kNOLA" or, get to know the New Orleans community. Unfortunately, budget limits have made it hard for our services to assist them with transportation or full community programs, which stunts their integration process. We are looking towards the community to help our Refugee Resettlement office to help our refugees with a bicycle package. This is valued at $160 (to include: bike, lock, lights, helmet, and air pump from Academy). Funds will also go towards emergency bus fares, English dictionaries, attire/uniforms for job interviews & eventual employment, and materials to start our Endurance Project Community Garden. We will keep track of your donation and let you know what and how your contribution has impacted the life of a person with refugee status directly. Thank you for your generous heart!
