Jerry Etzler was diagnosed with cancer tumors in January of this year. After 4 large tumors were removed from his abdomen February 7th, it was confirmed as pancreatic neuro-endocrine cancer , which is a rare type of cancer. The average life expectancy for this type of cancer is 5 years. We found a neuro-endocrine specialist at the Moffitt Cancer center in Tampa Florida. Dr. Larry Kovls discovered two additional tumors . He and his team of specialist immediately set up a treatment plan for Jerry that includes chemo and radiation treatments for 5 ½ weeks (beginning April 11th)and a monthly shot for the rest of his life. This meant that Jerry had to travel to Florida and remain there for the duration of this treatment. The good news is that Dr. Kovls is the leading expert in his field and has been treating cancer patients for more than 45 years. Some of his patients have lived 20 years and we are confident that Jerry will make not only 20 years but many, many more years. Although Jerry has insurance, the medical co-pays are building up fast. Currently they are over $8.000 and this is before any treatment at Moffitt. Jerry is 31 years old ,works for BNSF Railroad, and has a 7 year old daughter. If you would like to assist with the medical expenses please click the give button. Any donation will be very much appreciated. Thanks!
