Hi! I am Leah Velocity, you may also know me as Leo if we are connected outside of the art world. I am a model and creative, a nonbinary nomadic cat-daddy, an activist and aspiring writer.

I really hate to ask for more assistance, but this year has been a long hard slide into debt and illness, and I am struggling to pay for my basic needs while still making minimum credit card payments.

As you may know, I was in an intense rollover accident in May that totaled the van I was living in. My partner of 3 years broke up with me shortly after, and due to these and some surrounding events I have had a new resurgence in my C-PTSD that has mde modeling very difficult. I’ve had less than 10 shoots since the crash, and that’s my full time job.

The van I got as a replacement to live in SEEMED awesome. I was slightly worried about the custom roof extension, but I was assured it didn’t leak by the person who built it- who claimed he used to do auto body work for a living. I was dumb and trusted him, and had been living in serious mold for atleast a couple months. I am disabled with chronic pain and neurological issues and this was making everything so much worse.

My good friend, who is also houseless and trans, is assisting me in repairing the roof- which unfortunately has become a “refinish every component of the roof” sort of job. It’s slow going due to my pain levels and the dropping temperatures. Supplies for that are probably gonna cost me atleast $500 when all is said and done, and I would really like to buy them some more nice meals and reimburse them for their time and kindness.

In the middle of all of this my cat Squee got very ill and had to be hospitalised last week. The bill came out to $505, and my pet insurance will likely cover less than half. He’s doing just fine now, thankfully!

I am am gearing up to model and tour again, but I am fearful to schedule anything until this roof is done, so my income is still on hold. I have considered flying a sign for the first time in my life, I guess this is the more privileged equivalent. I hope to get back to more direct activism efforts once my own crisis have been handled.

I am also preparing to endure the civil case against the police officers who assaulted me in 2017, which is scheduled for later this winter. I am struggling to make my minimum credit card payments and could really just use some financial support to help me through a particularly difficult moment.

I just want a dry, mold free home! And to be able to meet my familiar and I’s basic needs, of course. Can you help Squee and I thrive?
