Since opening our doors in 2013, our community of guests, performers, and students has grown tremendously! We are now bursting at the seams and asking for your help to grow our space to provide more opportunities to play, laugh, and learn. Once we meet this first goal, we’ll be looking to improve our lounge (no more shhhing!), produce some fantastic original shows, and amp up the sound in the theater.

Finest City Improv is San Diego’s home for bold, original comedy. Our performers and students make up never-before-seen, never-again-seen comedy four nights a week at our North Park theater. We also offer classes and workshops for individuals, teams, and companies looking to be bold, courageous, and innovative, all while laughing their socks off.

Where is the money going?

• With the first $5,500, we will create an additional classroom: We will remodel the training center to create two classroom spaces to allow for more classes, more guest team rehearsals, and warm-up space.  We have a great quote from a great contractor and we are ready to go!
• Reaching $11,500, will help fund a satellite rehearsal room: Additional space for rehearsals is very much needed to free up space at the training center for guest teams, warm up space, classes, and more.
• If we reach $17,500, we will be able to produce two awesome new featured shows and create hundreds of new improv and sketch comedy fans in San Diego: These funds will provide opportunities for writers, performers, and directors to develop their skills and bring laughs to more audiences. Funds are needed to pay musicians, writers, and directors, to get props and costumes, and to advertise the shows to new audiences.  
• If we raise $21,500, we will pimp our lounge! We will remodel our bar and lounge area to include better seating, quicker bar service, and, most importantly, better sound-proofing so that you never have to be shushed again by our lovely house managers. Let's make it a more playful experience! 
• If we raise $24,000, we will improve the sound in the theater: Sound design by the amazing Joe Tek to create a fabulous auditory experience for ensembles and guests alike. We've spent thousands of dollars to better soundproof the theatre, now with your help we will complete the experience.
