Ming is a VERY active Bengal Mix, he is now 1 1/2 years old. He chases and plays with Tigra, plays fetch and LOVES to hunt faux mice. He is an indoor cat and he is an all around happy, affectionate cat, and we love him dearly!

In April of 2012, as I was browsing the shelter websites, I saw one of the most handsome kittens I had ever seen! He had these golden eyes that just melted my heart! I called the shelter to arrange a meeting with the lady who was fostering him.

She brought the kitten to meet me that night, and when she brought him out, I knew I was in love. He was so bright and energetic and sweet. I paid his fees and brought him home to his new family, it took less than a minute and my little girl was head over heels, about a minute or so more before my husband succumbed to his charms. it took him 3 days to get our female cat, Tigra to thaw. We named him Ming The Merciless(ly cute)...

On Last Thursday (7/4/2013) I noticed him licking his genital region, and later noticed that it was being done frequently. I had gone through Urine crystals with two of my other cats. Therefore I knew what to watch for. I had always provided Ming and Tigra with good food (Blue Buffalo), and hoped it would be good enough to help prevent the crystals. I made a vet appointment for Saturday since it was the only one I could get with the office.

However, Friday morning as I was washing my face, Ming came into the Bathroom and went into the shower and made like he was going to pee. But only a drop came out. I moved him to one of the litter boxes and stood back and watched. he tried and tried, but nothing came out. I immediately called my sister and since I could not take him because of previous engagements, she came over and took him to the walk in hospital PAWS2HELP for me. My daughter heard what was going on and began to cry. She knew what was happening because of our previous encounters with the problem, she knows it can kill them. She even offered me the $50.00 she had gotten recently for her birthday...

My sister took him to the vet and kept me updated to what was happening over the phone. She waited 4 hours (bless her), and once they examined him, they found that he had a fever and a blockage. They asked to keep him for unblocking, catheterization and observation over the weekend, so my sister left him with them. On Saturday, they took his catheter out and watched to see if he was able to pee. He wasn't. They called to tell me this and for permission to re-catheterize him and that I should contact them on Monday.

This morning (Monday) I called to find out how he was, but only was able to leave a message. I then went over there in the afternoon, and was able to speak to his vet. The vet said that they gave him an ultrasound, and found that the urine crystals have merged to form stones in his bladder, and the only way to remove them is surgery...

Right now, like many of you out there, we are struggling financially already, and have borrowed all we can from family and friends for his treatment and hospitalization so far. We have no way to pay for the surgery our little sweetheart needs.
We are hoping that people would be kind enough to help us save our kitty's life. Please! Any amount will be greatly appreciated!
