The SH Class of 1981 challenges all SH Alumni classes to sponsor “A Day at On With Life” for Alan Spohnheimer. As most of you know, Alan is receiving care at “On With Life” in Ankeny after a fall on September 1 caused a traumatic brain injury. The cost for his care there is $750/day and is not covered by his insurance. His siblings are contributing to the cost of his care, but he has been at “On With Life” since October 9 and the costs are rising.

All it takes is one person to contact other classmates and organize the money collection. The SH Class of 1981 surpassed their goal of $750 with the help of only 14 classmates. They presented the check to Gina on Tuesday, January 1, so January 1, 2013 is paid. Which class is next???!!??? The challenge is on!!!!!

We are also asking for help with contacting classmates. If you are interested in being a Class Captain, with all the superb benefits that come with it, reach out to Andy Arends at andyarends1@gmail.com. We’d like to find at least one Captain per class, so please let us know if you would like to get involved!

We hope to wrap this up by January 31st, so please get your donations in as soon as you can

More information can be found at his CaringBridge site (http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/alanspohnheimer) or on Facebook “Alumni for Alan.”
