A dear friend of ours, Brandon Emerick, lost everything in the wake of hurricane Sandy. He lived in Redhook, Brooklyn in a basement apt which was completely submerged. He escaped the storm surge with his dog, Oberon, and his phone.

Brandon is an extremely bright and talented artist. He is a die-hard supporter of the arts and has mentored and collaborated with many of us over the years.

Since the Hurricane decimated his neighborhood, he's been homeless - staying with neighbors and friends - and is still in a state of limbo. Like many of us artists, Brandon works job-to-job and has little to no savings to live on and no immediate family to lean on. With no clothes or food, and a urgent need to find a new apt, what he could really use at this moment is some $. It may be months before FEMA can help and until then it's getting colder everyday.

Many of you have already donated to Red Cross or FEMA and that is wonderful. However, their help is months down the line and quite a lot of red tape is involved before a person sees actual help.

Cash is most helpful right now and will be until Brandon and Oberon have a permanent address. Even the smallest amount will make a difference.
