Lucky's Unconditional Love
On Thursday, May 22nd, this paralyzed puppy was lucky enough to be brought to the Florence Lauderdale Animal Shelter by a samaratin. But any ordinary puppy's luck is only temporary and can only go so far until it's luck eventually runs out; especially, in a shelter environment where survival doesn't depend on the fittest; but rather, it mainly depends on how many animals a shelter can possibly fit to hold a life until that life is pulled, fostered, adopted, rescued or put down.
In this case, it requires something much more powerful than luck. Something that we as humans, just like animals, seem to have and possess. It's something we define as and call, LOVE. Unlike luck, which can not really be controled by choice, the powers of our love in numbers can actually be the deciding factor on whether or not one dog, cat or puppy gets to live. Some people have more love than others while some of us have smaller amounts of love to spare. But whether how big or small that love is when it's contributed to be combined together in the "sum" of numbers, a special little puppy's unconditional love can miraculously turn into a life we all would love for him to live.
This puppy's full name is Lucky Love. And we would like for you to become a big or small part of being able to feel his love. His love for life and our love for him being lucky enough to live. And with your help, he may be able to get the chance to prove that no matter what happens; whether or not he will be able to get to physically recover from whatever it is that's causing his paralasys, he will forever be treated with love and cared for as we will make sure of it.
But first, we will need to treat him for his present conditions that may or may not have anything to do with his disability; but rather, more to do with his conditions in health. He is indeed a sick puppy that was invaded by parasites and other illnesses that are presently being treated for. It is going to take time for his certain medications to work and, of course, it is going to take some funds to make those medications and treatments possible. So we first must need to get him the proper medications and vetting care that requires him to be healthy enough to live, then healthy enough to be fostered. And once we can achieve those goals for him to be physically strong enough to live under our care within our foster program, then all things are possible, including the use of wheelchairs for dogs like him if necessary in the future.
We estimate that his total veterinary cost will range somewhere around $500.00 to $600.00. And yes, we do realize that under normal circumstances that that price alone can be a financial burden for anybody, alone. But then again, with your help and a littlbe help from him and her, we are not just some body. We, together, are the sum of many bodies of all shapes and sizes who are contributing a little piece of ourselves to share this burden. This burden for choosing not put this dog down or euthanize him because of his treatable sicknesses or perhaps his untreatable physical disability should be more of a blessing that's meant to be shared by anybody and everybody, together.
On May 27, 2014, Lucky Love was healthy enough to be cared for and monitored by his foster mother, Ashley Cobb, after Lucky Love had spent 5 days and nights at North Alabama Animal Hospital. This will help reduce his veterinary costs while his medications can take effect. He will then return for more treatment next Monday, June 2nd, as we will continue to keep you updated with his progress and life changing events.
We will be posting updates here first before anywhere else; so if you want to stay updated, all you'll need to do is pitch in 5 dollars. Then feel free to find 5 to10 other friends who would love to pitch in their 5 dollars to learn more about who Lucky Love is; what had happened and what will happen next; where he will be living; How and when he will, if ever, get to become independantly mobile.
