Warning some dogs in mirror are older than they think they are. Ash is my neighbor dog. He has had a good life with his guy Kyle. They are a great pair and most consider them an anchor in our community. Ash has such a young spirit for his age. ... More ...

(the short story)

Construction worker bee friend of mine fell ill from moldy apartment and dying dog. He needs help putting the dog down and moving on to a healthyer life.

Please join me in pitching in to help a guy bounce back. It's not charity, it's an investment..

(longish story)

Warning some dogs in mirror are older than they think they are.

Ash is my neighbor dog. He has had a good life with his guy Kyle. They are a great pair and most consider them an anchor in our community. Ash has such a young spirit for his age.

They had mostly good times but now Ash is 13 and rife with tumors.

He is incontinent and gets sores. He lasted more than a year longer than his goodbye party. Now recently, as his health rapidly fails so has his owners unfortunatly. We live in crummy, detieriorating apartments.

Kyle got very sick.

The mold in the little apartment has given Kyle such seviere athsma that he landed in the hospital. Living life hand to mouth is not very forgiving of disruptions. Oh did I mention that part of why he is sick is also the detritus from the dying dog, his best friend Ash. Kyle recently had to quit his job and put notice to move out of his place. There goes the neighborhood. :(

He could sue the biggest property managment company in town but the first lawyer he went to was already retained by the landlord. He can't afford to fight them.

We call were we live "the jail" because we can't quite afford to move out and can't stay or the place kills ya.

I hear his bath tub just drains under the house.

So there is no cash to put poor Ash down. Kyle could use some dough too. He is a good guy and skilled construction worker. Kyle is the kind of fellow that can't pass a stranded motorist without stopping and fixing problems. I like calling him "Off the dial Kyle" for when he didn't have the bread for his electric bill but did have enough to outfit his house with a full solar power system.

I hate to lose my friend and neighbor but we are both glad he will be on the road to getting better in the next couple of years. I just want to get him on that road with relative comfort and dignity. I don't want Kyle's floor dropping out to knock him out of the game.

This man protected me and our neighborhood many times, now I want to try and help him out.

Please pitch in. :)
