Hello!  My aim is to raise as much money as possible to support friends and family in Sierra Leone to buy food and hygiene products to survive the current outbreak of Ebola. I will be completing a sponsored walk on 16th October.

As many of you know I spent time in Sierra Leone in the years following the Civil war between 2004-06. During this time I met some truly inspiring and amazing people some of whom I remain in contact with. They say 'we are living beyond the scope of reality,  just as we did during the war' they feel 'engulfed' by this deadly virus which every day is taking hundreds of people,  including members of my daughters family. There is now limited food and what there is is expensive. Families cannot comfort their loved ones nor bury their dead.  There are no words and it is unthinkable. However my aim is to ease some of the challenges to enable friends and family to buy food and soap etc to reduce the risk of infection.  The money will go directly to people on the ground. No middle men.

The reason it is a mum's walk is because I will be walking 14 miles,  4 times around Siblyback Lake carrying or pushing my 18lbs baby and it has to be completed between school runs!

I invite anyone who can to join me on the day/share this status and help raise funds!
