Sylvan Lake & Area Serenity Pet Shelter needs your help to continue rescuing abandoned, abused, injured and other wise distressed dogs/pups, cats and kittens.  We do spay/neuter and basic care for all our rescued friends.  Once in awhile, we get an injured dog requiring our help.  This year we have had five compelling cases to help:  the extra vet bills are slowly getting paid down.  To continue our rescue work for the coming year, we need to raise 10K.  Our total budget for the past year was $31.  We need YOUR help.  We do not get any government grants at all.  We depend on the generosity of donors, and the hard work of our rescuing/fund raising volunteers!  Right now our Ambassador dog Bella, is again at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine.  This will be her 2nd surgery to correct an internal problem.  She has had three knee surgeries all ready.  Bella gives back to the community by visiting nursing homes and hospitals, bringing smiles to shut in residents.  She is a happy otherwise healthy beautiful girl!  Emo and Teya have been adopted!  Emo is an amputee, and Teya is a car accident and cancer survivor.  Little Ariel is only 14 weeks old and a spitfire!  She survived double pneumonia and a double pneumo thorax and will receive her final medical clearance next week .  She is a fabulous puppy, a survivor, born in the bitterest of winter onto snow covered ground, one of only 6 to survive.  There were 7 others who perished.  Chance, pictured below, was found in a garbage trench which was set on fire about 100 feet from him.  He was found 6 feet down a bank suffering frostbite injuries and demodedic mange.  Today he is recovering in foster care.  Please help these sweet voiceless ones, and the ones to come.  We have 9 puppies waiting to be rescued.
