On the 2nd October 2013, Zack was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma, a rare form of cancer, although the second most common form of bone cancer in children. Zack was 2 and half years old at diagnosis. He has since completed his first six blocks of chemotherapy and surgery took place on the 18th February to remove his shoulder blade and part of his collar bone. A further 8 blocks of chemotherapy is to follow in March. This fund is to help Zack and other children suffering from cancer who are currently using the Rainbow Ward, in West Suffolk Hospital. The aim of this fund is to be able to meet Zack’s needs and to provide toys (in particular we are looking to purchase a Playmobil Hospital for the ward), outings and small funds to enable the children to have some fun whilst undergoing treatment and after initially going into remission. Zack is one of several children residing in the West Suffolk area who are currently undergoing gruelling treatment plans to beat this dreadful disease.
