Angel is a 1-year old, petite little pittie girl who desperately needs your help! She was rescued from a rural county but isn't out of the woods yet! More ...
This sweet little girl came to BARK from a neighboring rural county. Once under our care, she received her basic vetting which included her spay surgery. A few days after her spay surgery, the volunteers noticed that Angel was lethargic and that her belly seemed to be distended. She was rushed to an emergency vet where she received IV fluids (she was very dehydrated but couldn't keep down liquids), had various x-rays taken and an ultrasound to determine the cause of her condition. Her belly was, in fact, filled with fluid. The vet believed that Angel's small intestines were not working properly and that she could have Addison's disease. Total ER visit: $1250. Had she not been rushed to the vet, she would have likely died from the pressure from the fluid in her abdomen.

From the ER vet, Angel went to one of our full-service vet clinics where she had additional bloodwork done to try and pinpoint the exact cause. The vet found she has an infection and she's currently being treated for that while the diagnosis is still undetermined. We anticipate that Angel's vet care could easily exceed $3000.

BARK's adoption fee covers only the most basic of vetting and doesn't take into consideration the cost to feed, house the dogs, and provide monthly preventatives. Extensive vet care like Angel's is only possible through the donations of our volunteers and supporters. Please consider making a donation to help save Angel's life! At only a year old (likely younger than that), she deserves a chance!
