The Variety Club has an illustrious history stretching back to the golden age of British entertainment. The charity has raised over £200 million in the last 6 decades and improved the lives of more than a million children and young people.
The charity provides Sunshine Coaches, electric wheelchairs, outings to exciting places, equips children's hospitals with vital machinery and help in many other ways. The organisation concentrates on giving help where help is needed, and being the small change which makes a huge difference to the lives of children and young people across the country.
Traditionally known as the "showbiz" charity, The Variety Club receives much celebrity patronage as well as wide public and corporate support.
The Variety Club depends on the work of its network of volunteers and supporters to help children and young people across the UK. Without their unwavering commitment the charity would be unable to deliver the services and support to disabled, disadvantaged and sick children and young people throughout the country.
More information about the charity can be found at http://www.variety.org.uk/
I am hoping to raise around £300 for the Variety Club children’s charity. I am asking for any sponsors to give as much or as little as they can; I will be earning this sponsorship by climbing High Street peak (2717 ft) in the Lake district http://www.go4awalk.com/uk-mountains-and-hills/walks-up-high-street.php
I would be very grateful, as will the Variety Club, if you will sponsor this walk so that I can raise money for this fantastic charity!
Thank you, Daisy Chapman-Chamberlain
