Ellie was put into a situation with her inexperienced foster that resulted in the death of another dog. We probably will never know exactly what happened and guess it doesn't really matter. What does matter is that she and the other pit that the foster were going to shoot are both now safe.

The original plan was for Ellie to stay at Thunder Valley while she recouped from her spay and then go on to Durham Kennels so that if there was truly an aggression issue it could be addressed. In the end I have opted instead for a different plan.

Having talked to the facility that did her spay, the woman that transported her, a donator that has met her and the owner of Thunder Valley it has been decided that while yes she did participate in the killing of the other dog that it probably was not due to aggression but human error. So Thundervalley has agreed to put into into their 4 week training program . She will get 1 on 1 with a trainer and socialization with other dogs (this is the one thing Durham Kennels could not offer her)

I have spoke at lengths with Thunder Valley and think this might be a good fit. Ellie will spend 1 week as just a boarding dog while she heals from her spay and then will change over to the board/train program. By keeping her at one facility it will also cut down on stress of having to go to yet another "home".

The 85 raised will be added into the total which comes in lots lower than the original total of 1000.

I thank you all for your patience and understanding. Sometimes the first plan is not always the best.
