Finally, after almost two years of homelessness, Ragna & Debra found an apartment in the small town of Fallbrook in California. It's a bit more rural than they had wanted, but the rent is affordable and they're able to cover most of their necessities month to month.

However, in the process of moving in in October, Debra's laptop was stepped on and the screen was damaged. Since October, Debra and Ragna have often shared Ragna's laptop, allowing them both to communicate with the outside world. But on August 8th, Ragna's laptop experienced a catastrophic failure and even trying to reinstall Windows 10 won't help.

Much of their contact with the friends and family is online, and with no working laptop and one decent cell phone between them, it's hard to stay in touch, especially as both women are essentially housebound due to Covid-19. They are occasionally able to borrow a laptop from Ragna's seventeen-year-old when he visits, but it's not often.

With these funds, Ragna would get either $549 to buy a new laptop on Amazon or get her current laptop repaired (whichever option costs less), Debra would have $300 to repair her screen as well as $150 to get a working cell phone, and the leftover money would get Trace (Ragna's son) a cell phone to stay in contact with his birth family should things go badly with his adoptive family and at least one months service.
