Richelle Parker hasn't added a story.
My name is Richelle and I’ve been happily married to my husband Ricky
for 15 years. Growing up, Ricky didn’t have always have his dad in his
life due to his dad being command master chief in the navy. Ricky’s
mom was present but was enlisted police academy so her time with him
was limited. Ricky was molested as a child and was scared to tell his
parents so he withheld his molestation two years after it occurred and
finally got the courage to tell his mom when he was in the 6th grade.
His mom’s response to him telling her about being molested was “you
must’ve liked it”. What a horrible thing to say to your child. That
left Ricky devastated and ultimately changed the course of his life
and his behavior.
Dealing with childhood trauma, Ricky started getting into to trouble when he came to Texas in 2002 to live with his grandma and make a life for himself. Ricky is an extraordinary, intelligent man. He got his first felony in 2007 and was eventually sentenced to TDCJ in 2010 for 12 1/2 years. A lot of people don’t know what goes on behind prison walls unless you have someone going through it. It takes a toll on your mind and body if you aren’t strong enough. Ricky made the best of his time in prison dedicating himself to reading and teaching history, science and religion. He learned how to read and started his blog on Facebook called “The Lies Your Country Told” teaching about the hue-man race, “hue” meaning different colors, one people one love. Since paroling in 2021, Ricky has strived to walk a straight path but has been racially profiled by Galveston County Sheriffs and Santa Fe police and is currently facing new charges where his parole is on the line.
Like I stated in the previous paragraph, life behind prison
walls is scary. Not knowing if you’re going to make it home or get
shanked happens on a day to day basis. Hearing a fellow inmate get
raped for hours with no help from the co really takes a toll on you.
Ricky walked a straight line and only had 1-2 cases his entire 12
1/2 years. He hasn’t had a fair chance to show the man that he has
become. As a felon he had a hard time finding a job and wanted to do
whatever he could to support his family. On his birthday 1/4/2024,
we were pulled over in Santa Fe, TX and were notified of some
warrants for him. He began to panic and did not want to be sent back
to prison so he fled but was caught.
The criminal justice system has always been unfair and against our black and brown brothers. Everyone makes mistakes and I believe everyone always deserves another chance because “what would Jesus/Yeshua say or do” He would stick by our side which is exactly what I’m doing for my husband. We are asking for your prayers, support and donations so we can retain a lawyer who knows how the Santa Fe police racially profiles certain people and knows exactly how dirty they can get. We appreciate you all and will keep you updated as we fight to free my husband.
