TO MY VERY DEAR FAMILY AND FRIENDS:
I have really bad news to tell you all about my dear brother Jay. He has been arrested and in Campbell County jail in Gillette WY being detained for extradition to Harrison County jail in Gulfport MS. This came as a complete shock to me about 10 days ago. I was unable to put into words what was happening and the pain Jay and I were in but I did tell my daughters Daviette, Darla and Denise and son-in-law Jeremy immediately so they would be available to me for emotional support and guidance. Then I was faced with the difficult task of telling my parents who are in their 80s and not great health. They were both very upset but are dealing with the news as best they can. We are all praying for Jay’s health (he had heart bypass surgery about 4 years ago) and his freedom and vindication.

Why?
Jay has been in a difficult custody battle for the past three years. His ex-wife had an affair with a young guy and as soon as Jay and her were divorced she married him. There were custody arrangements in Gulfport through the courts giving Jay joint custody. His ex-wife illegally left Mississippi and moved his 2 children, Emily who was 8 yrs old and Jacob who was 7 yrs old, to Gillette Wyoming. Instead of getting into a legal battle with his ex, Jay made the decision to quit his job and move 1600 miles away to be with his children. For the past 3 years he has been asking his ex and her new husband to move to Texas to be close to his elderly parents or at least to move back to MS where her family lives. Then about a month ago he hears that they are planning another move but this time to Phoenix AZ. Jay put his foot down and said he would get the courts involved to enforce his custody rights. 2 weeks later, his ex-wife drives to Gulfport to file 100% false allegations that her soon to be 18 yr old daughter had been molested (touched) by my brother 5 years ago. Anyone who knows Jay knows that this is an outright LIE. This false report has led to my brother being arrested on a felony charge with a fugitive warrant from Mississippi. Jay went from being a loving father spending time with his 2 children to being isolated from them and having to fight this heinous allegation from behind bars.

Can he be bonded out?
Jay can only be bonded out from Wyoming if we give $5,000 cash and $45,000 value in property plus possibly having to post another bond in MS. So we are trying to get him to MS as soon as possible so he can be bonded out there with a typical bond of 10% cash plus fees, approximately $5,100. Then we can begin to work on his defense, to prove he is innocent.
-
Who will represent him in court?
As most of you know, my daughter Darla is an awesome criminal defense attorney in Houston Tx, the 4th largest city in the US. However, she is not licensed in Wyoming nor is she licensed in Mississippi. Therefore, we have to hire a criminal defense attorney in MS which will be very costly for this type of felony case.

How can I get a message to him?
Anyone wanting to get messages of encouragement to Jay can text, email or private message me on Facebook. I can copy and paste your message via a jail text app which costs only 25 cents per message under 500 characters.

How can I help?
Other than messages of faith and encouragement which Jay desperately needs; we are in dire need of cash donations. We will use the first amount of money to bond Jay out of jail. We have raised money between our small family in Texas but need additional funds. Then the rest of the money raised will go to pay for a really good attorney whom we NEED to fight against these people determined to separate Jay from his 2 children who love him dearly and now who are very distraught according to the children’s elementary school counselor. After Jay is exonerated, we will be paying for a family law attorney to get his custody rights reinstated. Any amount of money you can give will help!
We as loved ones have a long and hard battle ahead of us. I personally am 100% committed to fighting until the end when the charges against my brother are dismissed and he has his children back in his arms again. Will you please search your heart and see fit to help us with a donation today?
