Help in leaving the war hasn't added a story.
15 февраля в мой дом попала российская ракета, и я лишился жилья.

Это я на 1:07.
Sorry, I translated it using Google Translator
Hello. My name is Zhenya Kornienko. I live in Ukraine, the city
of Pokrovsk, Donetsk region. On February 24, the war began in
Ukraine, I went through the first two weeks very hard, lost 10 kg,
could not eat or sleep, and lived on sedatives. I also had a
grandfather, he was disabled from Chernobyl, I looked after him
after the death of my grandmother in 2019, I could not go to work or
go for a walk like everyone else, I studied at DonNTU, which I
graduated in 2021. Our city is located quite close to the contact
line; every day, after the start of large-scale hostilities, there
were audible explosions at the front.
I persuaded my mother, girlfriend and grandfather to leave the
country. I myself wanted to enroll in the Tritoral Defense (TRD).
But since there was something wrong with our city authorities and
they didn’t want to help us, they dissuaded me from going.
Literally two weeks later, a cluster bomb landed at the Railway
Station in Pokrovsk. I still remember how my stomach froze and my
jaw went numb, I couldn’t move, I could only watch the reflections
of the explosion through the window. We went down to the basement
and heard the sounds of gunfire in the city.
After that, I forced my mother and girlfriend to leave the
country, but I couldn’t persuade my grandfather because he was
elderly and didn’t want to go anywhere. I had to leave Him with my
son for a while and accompany my mother and girl to the bus that was
coming from the city of Dnieper. After the escort I was left alone.
Came home to the cat. The grandfather was taken to a safe place by
relatives while police officers who had left Mariupol lived in his
apartment. So I was left to live in the city alone with my cat. I
worked mainly unloading coal cars for not very good people, although
they treated me well. Then a friend with whom I lived until February
15, 2023 moved in with me. On this day, at approximately 10 am,
there was an explosion that shook the house and cracked the windows.
I jumped out of bed and slowly began to walk into the hallway as
fear gripped my body. And before that there were arrivals in our
neighborhood and city, but this one was the closest to us. After
about 7 seconds, the house shook with even greater force, glass
began to fall from the upper floors. There was a moment of shock and
misunderstanding, disorientation. We sat for another 10 seconds and
I went to the window. I saw that the slabs from the upper floors
were lying, and at the back of the house there was complete
destruction, as if the upper floor had never existed.
I didn’t know what to do and the first thing I thought was that
I needed to help someone, I ran out into the entrance in my shorts,
everything was covered in dust, there were fragments of concrete
lying on the floor, I looked up and there was a gaping hole in the
roof. I lived on the 2nd floor of a five-story building.
I was shocked, but already at that moment a policeman and a
fireman called out to me, telling me to leave the premises and that
they would take care of the people. First of all, I started looking
for the cat, I couldn’t find it for a long time, they started to
force me out, saying that the house might collapse, but I didn’t
leave until the last minute.
Still, I had to go down, but after a short time I asked a
military friend to let me into the house to get the cat. She was in
the sofa itself, found a hole in it and sat there.
I went to live with a friend who lived not far away. And he
stayed with him for half a year. In the meantime, we were allowed to
take things out of the apartment. local authorities promised to
help, but I took everything out myself; of course, relatives and
friends who came helped.
So we lived with another friend. Explosions became more frequent
in the city, and we increasingly went down to the entrance to the
first floor.
After 4 months, my mother arrived from Poland to sort out the
documents for the apartment. And later we moved from a friend to a
rented apartment. We don't have enough money because there is almost
no work in the city. And missiles arriving in the city became more
frequent. Now the situation is very bad. We have practically no
money and we have nowhere to go since we have no relatives who live
in Western Ukraine. My mother and I work in a children's center, but
since people leave the city, we get pennies.
I want to ask for help from people who care. Unfortunately, we
are not alone, people suffer and die every day here. I just want to
live with my family in safety so as not to hear explosions and hope
that a rocket doesn’t come at us.
