Happy Hen Chicken Rescue is a 40 acre vegan farmed animal sanctuary in San Luis Obispo, CA. We are aiming to end all animal exploitation by saving animals, mainly from the food industry, and sharing their stories with the world. 

As we've been doing this work, we have realized how much of  a need there is for it. Every single day we get contacted about countless animals, and it quite simply is not possible for one organization to take them all. We need to have several farmed animal sanctuaries in every city if we want to successfully provide loving homes to all of these animals. 

There are so many people who want to do this work, who are passionate about saving animals and providing them kindness and safety. But, too often, they have no clue where to start. 

And that brings us to what we are currently trying to launch: an internship program. We want to bring people in, allow them to live on site in an RV for 1 - 2 months, and leave feeling empowered with the knowledge and skill set to start doing this work themselves. 

We are trying to fundraise to get this program up and running as soon as possible! We don't want to wait another moment if we don't have to. We are so excited to start bringing people in and teaching them all about animal care HANDS ON. Please donate anything you can, even just a couple of dollars helps.
