Amy Abrams hasn't added a story.
Picture this: about 20 years ago, summer in Houston. Clean and sober a few years, I was working in a law firm (which in itself is funny since I had been arrested at least 200 times) They were doing construction in front of the building . I like big, burly olive skin, and dark haired guys. Every morning one of the workers said good morning, have a great day and when I left he said have a great night. He was very fit (a construction worker) fair skin, strawberry blonde, totally not my type. One afternoon during lunch he was leaning on the building eating a sandwich. He asked my name, I asked his (Danny). He was in Houston on business for a year, he lived in Mass. He had a boy and 3 teen girls. Oh and a girlfriend (she didn't live with him). He asked me out, I said yes. He said he had to clean up and would pick me up at 7. He cleaned up well, creased jeans, nice shirt, smelled good, blah, blah, blah. He took me bowling, which was fun, then we started driving and driving and driving. I asked where we were going, he said Galveston (the beach). We stopped for gas and somehow we were in front of each other and he put his hands on my face and kissed me. Not a tongue down your throat kiss, but soft and tender and gentle. Back in the truck we arrive in Galveston @ midnight. We kickoff our shoes, roll up our pants and play in the surf with a full moon. It felt like we were the only 2 people in the universe. Laid in the sand and we talked for hours, found a diner, neither of us could eat we just looked in each other's eyes and talked. We got to my place a @5am I asked if he would like to come in, he said yes. It was LOVE AT FIRST NIGHT. He moved in. I had never felt more safe, more loved, more protected, more cared for, more happy before or since. I asked him to marry me and he said he couldn't because although he loved me, he loved her (Sherry) more. He bought me a one carat solitaire diamond (the diamond fell out the week after he left). A week before he left Houston I won a contest at a restaurant that I worked at, it was a 3 day contest and you had to sell sooo much on this BINGO card they made. It was a BBQ place, 1 square was 3 platters of pok ribs, another 4 platters of beef, high end cigars, tee shirts, so on and so forth, you get the idea, it was alot. The contest was from Fr. 5pm until Sun 11pm. The prize: 2 front row tickets to Steve Miller Band, dinner at Ruth's Chris steak house,a limousine for 4 hr. Did not have to be in 1 night, all separate. I won the contest in 5 hrs. Needless to say the other waiters were pissed. Danny knew nothing, I just told him I was taking him out and to dress casual). I spoke to the limo driver and explained what I waned to do, he said it was his and his wife's 25th anniversary but since he had to work he couldn't be with her, I said bring her along. (He told me later it was his best anniversary) He said I could have the limo as long as I wanted no charge. (Of course, there was a divider and they were in front.) I had our favorite Cd's, etc. When we came out to go on our "date" he saw the long white limo, the driver had opened the door for him and spoke his name (well surname) He looked confused, I didn't tell him anything, but I re-created our 1st date down to the gas station where we had our first kiss, we went skinny dipping with a full moon. It was magical and It was daylight when we got home. He went back to Mass. I flew in for a weekend (Sherry didn't live with him) we played in the snow and played pinball, had a wonderful weekend. I went home. After a few months Sherry moved in and told me Danny told her all about me and don't call his house again. I wanted him happy (but I was miserable). Since I am getting a new phone I thought I would scroll through the phone I have and weed out out some people. ⅓ I never speak to anymore. ⅓ number disconnected, ⅓ I want to stay in touch with. I see Danny's number, now mind you I have pressed the send button at least 1000 times over the last 2 decades but always hung up after the 1st ring. Me, who has balls the size of a bull, was terrified. So 2 nights ago while I was scrolling through I thought what the hell, and pressed send, after a few rings a machine picked up and said hi this is Danny, NOT this is Danny and Sherry (WOO WOO). I left a message saying who it was and I just wanted to know how he was doing and if he felt like it he could call back. Yesterday morning, he called. The very first thing he said was that he had been thinking a lot about me for about 2 months and that yesterday (before I left the message he couldn't stop thinking of me all day but didn't know how to find me. He said he had his kids try to find me on facebook and of course I tried to find him, no facebook for him. He and I are both single now. He asked me about any relationships since him and I told him, no one could compare so why bother. I have never wanted anyone else but him. We face timed and although we are both a little older, not much has changed, appearance wise. He has 5 grandchildren and had lung cancer and beat it and he hates my hair. When we were together I had long blonde hair. I told him I could get wigs and we could do fantasies! Hair grows, if it's that important to him. We are trying to work out a way to see each other (the lung cancer wiped out his savings). Maybe I should start a go-fund-me campaign. He made me so happy, I need to feel that way again. This pic is how I looked when we were together. So if in your heart you can spare $1, $5, $10 ANYTHING, if everyone helps maybe I can live my dream.Someone suggested this fundrazr. There should be a LOVE category.
