Everyone meet Betty! It took a huge collaborative effort to get her to safety but she is now safe and sound getting medical treatment.
MEDICAL UPDATE:
Now named Betty, she is at All Aboard vet hospital receiving pain medication and care for her RUPTURED mammary tumors. The great news is that she does not appear to have a pyometra, so the veterinary team is treating her for severely swollen lympnodes, getting xrays and setting her up to gain some strength to get ready for the tumor removal surgery. She will stay at the veterinary clinic for the weekend to gain strength, as we receive updates we will share on here! Thank you to everyone who helped coordinate her rescue.
Her original medical from MDAS state:
Due out 07/02/14, your rescue commitment has been placed for pick up tomorrow under foster agreement, need to be out ASAP, pet presented for mamamry tumor On examination pet presents milk in mammary gland and large open neoplasia on abdominal mammary gland Pet will require further examination to evaluate limphatic compromise. Pet will require surgical removal of mammary gland. Pet presented vaginal discharge, if signs of vaginal discharge persist and pus becomes evident spay sx will be indicated due to posibility of Pyometra.
The original plea:
This beautiful girl just came into the shelter in critical condition,
and we are in the process of confirming her emergency arrangements. In
true MDAS style, their medical notes demonstrate that their vets are
not taking any action for her welfare. The most disturbing notes
describe possible pyometra - regardless of her stray status, pyometra
is a condition where the uterus is infected and the pet can die in a
matter of hours without emergency surgery. The notes show they have
not placed her on IV fluids, they have not given her pain meds or
antibiotics. This is completely unaccptable, and we NEED YOUR HELP!
Please PLEDGE to get her the emergency medical care to save her life
