. rescues work together to give the Acadia shelter dogs a chance
but the costs are great . they need vetting , transportation up north
and boarding while they wait. It’s costly but their lives are
priceless Please consider helping us help them. Together we really can

their last chance It costs on average a rescue 350 -400 dollars to
save one dog from here that’s more than an adoption fee And many
are Hw positive. With only 17 kennels dogs must go to boarding
waiting for transport they need all their vaccines and basic vetting
And the cost of transportation which averages 150 a dog Once
with rescue they need to be spayed or neutered These are highly
adoptable dogs that shouldn’t die because the shelters circumstances
They are there through no fault of their own

Acadia Parish. shelter is a very very poor
rural shelter in Louisiana.
They have no funds for any type of
vetting including vaccines and spays /neuters. They have staff of
just 3. No sponsored spay neuter clinics Sadly They don’t pay
for anything except euthanasia of the dogs. Their euthanasia rate is
80 PERCENT . Yup you read that correctly 80 PERCENT That’s a
statistic I can’t wrap my head around. The dedicated volunteers (
only have a couple ) try so hard to change life for these sweet souls
but they have limited rescue contacts , no funds and really no rescue
partners . They have no photographers taking fancy photos of their
dogs. , no venues or interested people to hold adoption
events. The dogs They get literally no one networking or advocating
for them but us. the dogs don’t have beds or toys , not because no
one cares but because they just have no funds and the dogs don’t stay
long 💔there no longer timers at the shelter. With just 17 kennels.
No chance for long timers. 💔Additionally The shelter won’t adopt
out pits locally because they fear what they will be used for, making
the chance pits make it out alive , slim to none. 💔💔💔. The
dogs in Acadia shelter are pretty much invisible BUT I’m hoping
together we can change that , their euth rate and the lives of the
dogs there
