Karen Pointer hasn't added a story.
The above picture is of my father Donald McGowan. He was 76 years old as of this morning May 1st 2014 he went to meet our Lord. Hewas as you can see on life support and has been for the last 14 days. He had advanced lung disease and his heart was failing. He was admitted 14 days ago with pneumonia and unable to breath on his own so they vented him and he quickly declined ever since.
They had tried to remove the ventilator and put in a trach so that they could start to maybe do other testing on him and do other work on his heart. However, when they tried to take him off of the vent, his blood pressure skyrocketed and he declined even further.
So then we were faced with the choice none of his 4 children (3 daughters Brenda,Susan,Karen, 1 son Tim ) and 5 grandchildren(3 girlsTiphianie,Brittanie,Alyssa & 3 Boys Raymond,Nicholas,Nathan) & soon to be 1 great grandchild in November by Brittanie & her husband Michael wants to make, which brings me to why I am starting this Fundrazr.
Brittanie and her husband Michael live in Phenix City, Alabama Michael is a decorated US Marine that served 4 1/2 deployments in 4 years and is now out of the Marines and is going into the US Army to serve as an Active Duty soldier once again. His Family and our family are very proud of Michael for his service to our Country.
Brittanie is almost 3 months pregnant with their first child and works for a physicians office full time. However, as we all know Military personnel do not get paid very well and right now they are struggling badly and have had to move in with Michael's family in Alabama.
I was a single mom when Brittanie was growing up until she was about 10 years old and her grandfather was a huge part of her life as a father figure. She loves him so much and he loves her. We as a family are not wealthy and we need to get her and her husband home. At the end of this week we have alot of big decisions on what we will need to do where my Dad is concerned. Brittanie needs to be here to be a part of that decision. Her grandfather would want that, I want that and our family wants that.
We are not asking for alot of money we are asking for whatever your hearts can afford to give. We figure they will need fuel to get here and around town and back home. Enough to cover bills while here and out of work for the time here and food especially since Brittanie is pregnant and is always hungry.
We are not 100% how much it will take but we will be thankful and Blessed for whatever your heart tells you to give.
Please.....IF you have any questions at all ask! We will answer whatever you need to hear from us. It is important to us that you know that this is legitimate. My father is at https://www.floridahospital.com/north-pinellas which we call Helen Ellis Hospital in Tarpon Springs, Florida because that is what it was called my entire life. The name was changed a couple of years ago. He is in the CCU. There is a password set so you will not get information on him other than he is resting comfortably when you call. The password is for family only.
Thank you & God Bless.
